About the practice

Adhara Insight NP in Psychiatry is a psychiatric practice that offers contemplative psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management to support mental health, treat a wide variety of behavioral and emotional conditions, and to aid in transformative healing towards higher levels of consciousness.

Why Adhara Insight?

Adhara is a Sanskrit word that most simply means "to support or prop". It is considered to be the "vehicle of consciousness" and can be thought of as a container that supports higher consciousness. In yogic philosophy, it is considered to encompass everything in a being that is not the higher nature of that being; it is the lower, base realm of the physical, emotional, and mental bodies, the subconscious mind, and the ego. When the adhara is stable and grounded, we are supported in our healing and transformation towards higher levels of consciousness.

The intention at Adhara Insight is to help people establish a stable emotional and mental foundation through contemplative psychotherapy and/or use of psychotropic medications, which can support psychological healing and evolution towards higher awareness. As we gain greater insights into our psychological make-up, our foundation strengthens, and this leads to further insights. This continuous giving-and-taking propels one upward toward higher levels of self-awareness. As we become more self-aware, we gain the freedom to live consciously, allowing our behavior to be guided by mindful choices rather than reacting because of prior experiences and past conditioning.

Erica Saccente, PMHNP is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, licensed in the state of New York, founder and sole practitioner of the practice. Sessions are currently being conducted via telemedicine.
